Conservative bloggers have joined their Queen, Rush Limbaugh, in denouncing the selection of Bill Clinton as the recipient of the "Father of the Year" Award.

Bill Clinton, Father of the Year
Written By : Dave Blount
In keeping with the liberal practice of granting awards to those who least deserve them, Bill Clinton, best known for humiliating his family by having a sordid sexual affair with a woman young enough to be his daughter, has been named Father of the Year: http://www.rightwingnews.com/democrats/bill-clinton-father-of-the-year/
Here is an example of how the lame-stream media reported distorted the record:
Jan. 9, 2013 The National Father`s Day Council announced today that it has selected President Bill Clinton, Founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd President of the United States, as a 2013 "Father of the Year" Award recipient.
"We are extremely honored to have President Clinton accept this award for Father of the Year," said Dan Orwig, Chairman of the National Father`s Day Committee, "With the profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations, President Clinton exemplifies the attributes that we celebrate through the father of the year award." http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/09/ny-national-fathers-day-idUSnBw7Ybz0Ba+122+BSW20130109
Despite their vitriol, the conservative commentators failed to nominate one of their own to bestow the honor upon. So I would like to nominate perhaps the most conservative members of the US Senate, the Honorable Rand Paul, as the "Father of the Year".
Like Clinton, Senator Paul did have a minor transgression in his past. But Senator Paul did not engage in anything as despicable as consensual sex with another adult. Rand Paul merely kidnapped and abducted a coed at Baylor University. It was just a simple college prank and a major felony punishable by death (like most crimes in Texas).

SourceThe strangest episode of Paul's time at Baylor occurred one afternoon in 1983 (although memories about all of these events are understandably a bit hazy, so the date might be slightly off), when he and a NoZe brother paid a visit to a female student who was one of Paul's teammates on the Baylor swim team. According to this woman, who requested anonymity because of her current job as a clinical psychologist, "He and Randy came to my house, they knocked on my door, and then they blindfolded me, tied me up, and put me in their car. They took me to their apartment and tried to force me to take bong hits. They'd been smoking pot." After the woman refused to smoke with them, Paul and his friend put her back in their car and drove to the countryside outside of Waco, where they stopped near a creek. "They told me their god was 'Aqua Buddha' and that I needed to bow down and worship him," the woman recalls. "They blindfolded me and made me bow down to 'Aqua Buddha' in the creek. I had to say, 'I worship you Aqua Buddha, I worship you.' At Baylor, there were people actively going around trying to save you and we had to go to chapel, so worshiping idols was a big no-no." http://www.gq.com/blogs/the-q/2010/08/gq-exclusive-rand-pauls-crazy-college-days-hint-theres-a-secret-society-involved.html
Senator Paul was also recently involved in a minor incident at an airport:
Rand Paul stopped by TSA after body scan anomaly
By TIM MAK | 1/23/12 10:37 AM EDT Updated: 1/24/12 12:01 PM EDTKentucky Sen. Rand Paul was blocked from boarding a flight Monday by the Transportation Security Administration in Nashville, Tenn., after refusing a full body pat-down, POLITICO has confirmed. “I spoke with him five minutes ago and he was being detained indefinitely,” Paul spokesperson Moira Bagley said. “The image scan went off; he refused patdown.”
The TSA disputed this characterization of the incident. The Kentucky senator triggered an alarm during routine airport screening and declined to finish the process, said a TSA official, but was “not detained at any point.” A targeted pat-down is usually used to address the alarm. “Passengers, as in this case, who refuse to comply with security procedures are denied access to the secure gate area. He was escorted out of the screening area by local law enforcement,” the official said. Read more: http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0112/71818.html#ixzz2Hv0DZlGY
But, even though Rand Paul may not be perfect, he is a great father. He has used his past mistakes to teach his son how to avoid similar mistakes. But, you know, boys will be boys:
William Paul, 19, was arrested Jan. 5 at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport after his flight landed. The Bowling Green, Ky., resident, was charged with consuming beer/wine underage, disorderly conduct and being intoxicated and disruptive.
The grandson of former presidential candidate Ron Paul and son of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., is also charged with assaulting a flight attendant during a U.S. Airways flight from Lexington, Ky., to Charlotte last weekend. The misdemeanor assault on a female by aggressive physical force charge was confirmed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Saturday.
After the arrest last week, Senator Rand Paul’s office released a statement asking for privacy. “Sen. Paul is a national public figure and subject to scrutiny in the public arena,” the statement read. “However, as many parents with teenagers would understand, his family should be afforded the privacy and respect they deserve in a situation such as this.” http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/01/12/3782870/police-sen-pauls-son-assaulted.html
But, see, William Paul learned from his father's mistakes. William did not kidnap and abduct the flight attendant. William just assaulted her. Senator Rand Paul exhibited his exceptional parenting skills and as a result his son's indiscretions were limited to mere misdemeanors. And young William Paul has not been accused of having disgusting sex like Bill Clinton did. This is proof positive that Rand Paul is the superior father and he should have received the "Father of the Year" Award. And William Rand is just a chip off the ole blockhead. He will probably be the Republican nominee for president in 2044.
