Romney is desperately trying to complete his "Victory Tour" on the eve of the election.  Internal republican polling indicates that Obama will win re-election so Romney is flying across the country and pretending that he is confident of victory.  He knows that he won't be celebrating anything after the election.

An unnamed source from within the Romney campaign, John Sununu, said the "Victory Tour" is Romney's last chance to lie to the voters.  Sununu said :

"We owe it to our most loyal supporters, you know all of those wonderful Teaparty bigots and all of those crazy religious nut-jobs, to hold a few events to thank them for their support.  So we're going to pretend we're going to win so we can celebrate while there's still time.  We thought we could achieve victory through a combination of voter suppression, voter intimidation and rigged voting machines but even those tactics aren't going to be enough to steal the election.  We're still not giving up, but our polls now indicate that the democratic process will succeed no matter how much we try to prevent that from happening.  We're stepping up the "True the Vote" voter intimidation effort and our operatives are working very hard to destroy ballots being cast by minorities, but it looks like our efforts are falling short.  The good news is that at the state level we have managed to use gerrymandering techniques to insure that we will retain control of the House of Representatives.  And even though the Democrats will maintain their majority in the Senate, we will still have a sufficient number of republicans to keep filibustering anything that would help the economy.  So the republicans in Congress will still be able to stop any progress Obama tries to accomplish.  We will be able to push America right over the fiscal cliff and create another recession.  We'll do what republicans do best -- we'll keep Congress so constipated that the stink will reach the White House.  We'll be able to prevent President Obama from rescuing the economy this time so we should be able to blame him for poor leadership and get Paul Ryan elected in 2016.    Then we can dismantle Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.  And we will cut taxes on the rich and corporate taxes and pretend it will create jobs.  We can keep the religious idiots on our side by eliminating abortion and we know the racists will always vote republican.  So our real victory will come in 2016."
